35* Willowfest Reunion Details

The Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships is calling on all former players, umpires, committee and teams to Mildura for this year’s carnival.

Willowfest is celebrating its 35th carnival this year, with a number of

festivities to be held during the week to celebrate.

A paddleboat cruise will be held on the P.S. Mundoo on the 27th December, down the mightyMurray River for both past & current players of Willowfest.

As many as 10,000 cricketers having participated in Willowfest over

the 35 years.

“The reunion is a celebration of 35 years of cricket, with about 1000 teams participating over the 35 years,” Willowfest president Anthony Telfer said.

“We are looking forward to reacquainting ourselves with many friends who have participated in Willowfest.”

As part of the celebrations, a 35-man team will be named that represents the characters, players and contributions that have been made to make Willowfest one of the greatest cricket carnivals in Australia.

Teams that have participated in Willowfest for 10, 15 and 20 years will also be presented with a participation plaque to recognise their contributions to the carnival.

“With Ian Callen as our ambassador and as he has played in the carnival before, I’m sure his presence will drag a lot of people along to the reunion paddleboat cruise on the Mundoo.”

The cost of the cruise is $55, with drinks at bar prices and anyone with any Willowfest photos or newspaper clippings is encouraged to bring them.
