WILLOWFEST SUPPORTS WIPE OFF 5 CAMPAIGN
WILLOWFEST is again joining forces with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) in support of their Wipe off 5 campaign.
The initiative encourages Victorians to
come up with creative ways of how to Wipe off 5, such as wiping 5 off your footy jumper, or wiping 5 minutes off your make-up routine.
Clubs and cricketers at this year’s Willowfest are encouraged to enter the competition, such as wiping 5 off your scorecard or scoreboard.
Ideas can then be submitted at www.wipeoff5.com.au or on Twitter or Instagram for the chance to win $5,000.
The aim of the campaign is to help keep our roads safe by educating motorists about the risks associated with low-level speeding.
Regional visits around Victorian will give people the chance to sign a giant ‘Wipe off 5’ board, showing your commitment to reducing low-level speeding.
TAC CEO Janet Dore urged regional Victorians to back the campaign, which will help save lives.
“About 100 people die on our roads every year in crashes where speed was a contributing factor and this is just not acceptable,” Ms Dore said.
“We’re asking all of you to take
an active role in helping us drive down the road toll, and one way you can do this is by sticking to the speed limit.”
